Fresh Air

All I have to say is that Valentino and Giles dominated the runway. PROOF:

True, Valentino basically showed a runway of transparent clothing and large, satin waves,
but he pulled it off, and pulled it off fabulously.

To be quite honest, I have never been a fan or follower of Valentino. No doubt he's always created flattering, pretty clothing, it has just never demanded adoration until this collection.

Plus he created a dress to which we would all immediately scream

AHEM:

Life would be complete if only I could attain this metallic dinosaur purse from Giles.

My tribute to Anna

There was a fashionista with him there
Prada and Dolce, Laurent and Ferre'
Her name was Anna, her sunglasses said all
Come ten feet closer you won't win this brawl
Her skirt a size zero, her shoes six inches
On the front row her face giving vexes
The September issue at her feet, three
Secretaries and her Starbucks coffee
The music begins, the lights get dark
And Anna watches without a remark

OH I love writing in iambic pentameter. (end sarcasm)

BTW IF I CATCH ANYONE TURN THIS IN TOMORROW FOR ENGLISH THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY.

Red

We should hopefully have a photo shoot out in the next couple of days, maybe Saturday. Although I vaguely remember making this same promise a couple of weeks ago... hmm. London Fashion week was a joke, THE only thing that was really cool at New York besides Marc was Tavi, and I have yet to really look at anything from Milan. But Paris has generated some of my interest.

Life is just too busy I guess to really have time for fashion week. Thank god for my bible, ELLE's annual fashion week edition!

White on white

I feel like maybe a cheesy joke about how white is the new black might fit in here somewhere...
Anyway, look no further that a few scrolls below for the lovely Chinese albino fashion sensation!
Yes, yes, it is true
Look below for Connie Chiu
Her skin is so smooth, clear and pale
Her hair hangs like a clean white veil.
Sometimes albinos get a lot of hate,
But apparently the fashion world doesn't discriminate.
Against people with albinism at least. The same can't be said for everyone. But how could anyone not want her to sell their clothes?

Since I said such nice things about Connie Chiu, can I please have that eye sweater now?

How wonderfully minimilistically awesome would she look in a long black dress with no make up except some bright red lips? Or maybe a royal blue cocktail dress and no shoes. Or maybe black lips and a black fur coat. The list could go on and on. Please, Gods, if you haven't given up on me yet, please, let me become a famous designer so that I can hire Connie Chiu for all of my ad campaigns.

Reason #84 I'm on my way to becoming a crazy cat lady

"Reason #84 I'm on my way to becoming a crazy cat lady: I called the police last night because I heard a noise and the cats were acting funny like they were trying to tell me something. The 3rd time the dispatcher repeated "the cats are acting funny?" I yelled and told her to have an officer ask the cats what happened."

Can I die now please?

New York Fashion week has ended... sigh.

And London is about to if it hasn't already. But who cares about London?

Its all about Milan and Paris now.

A quick review of what shows we liked besides the three previous shows.

Calvin Klein

The only thing I didn't like was that the models looked like they ate a Big Mac and then huffed themselves down the cat-walk. Looks like it must of been hot though, so I will give them that. I love the modern feel that Calvin Klein always gives, Francisco Costa did a wonderful job for the most part this season.

Proenza Schouler

As Fashionologie put it, "Scuba Geared" fits perfectly. The season has an almost other-world feel to it, and I still can't get over model/picture two's teal tinted hair. Perfect!

What is there to say besides... my favorite show this season in New York? Nothing can beat those tribal tattoos ... except for that Vera Wang dress that will be one day hanging in my home as a decoration. But only that.

BTW since we were on the topic of cats at the beginning of this post, watched the most amazing show where people are like TOTALLY crazy about animals. I think it was on TLC or Animal Planet. Those people have become my new hero's.

This is to you Crazy Cat woman who can't find some stray cat in her neighborhood and asks all the neighbor's if they have seen him. Who leaves food in a trap outside her house so she can catch him, and who plans and throws a birthday party for the 15 cats that live in her house. Who laces their brownies with Cat marijuana or cat nip or whatever she called and and who reads her cats a bedtime story every night.

How many japanese girls died of shock this morning?

How is it that I find myself posting blogs on days I really have no time to be doing so. The homework load for today?

Write two editorials for my School newspaper, study for a Human Geo quiz, complete a sociology worksheet, finish an entire chapter of Medical Term, and finally a English essay for my college application. Fun...

I suppose drooling over Marc Jacobs was not a very good idea yesterday. His new collection though is something to be quite pleased of, and for the first time in a while I am very excited for what he brought out to us. I can only imagine what Japan was like when all those girls woke up to realize that they had just been delivered a massive gift in the form of fabric ecstasy.

Also enjoyed Vera Wang (Don't you just love all these big brand names... god break off from the mainstream Peasant Revolt...). I've decided that when I grow older I will order a custom dress from Wang, and will hang it up somewhere in my house simply as decoration. Nothing I can think of screams class more then that.

That's really all I have to update on Fashion Week. It's been a rather interesting week I must admit, the best and worst shows I have seen yet. BCBG Max Azria will forever be on my shit list for their S/S 10 work, disgusting.

Indeed, everyone has been holding there breath with excitement for one of the most anticipated films upcoming in 2010:

Only Johnny Depp, only Helena Bonham Carter, only Tim Burton could manifest this work of brilliance from the eerie and beloved tale of Alice in Wonderland. There is no doubt it will be beyond spectacular. The costumes already look intriguing!

DISCLAIMER: We all might go insane because of two words: Fashion Week. Oh Gawwd. It begins tomorrow and then is followed by seven days of designer holiness. I'd say I'm most looking forward to the Alexanders, McQueen and Wang. Both consistently surprise and delight!

This was my favorite season, ruffles and giant butterflies...
I cannot bear to wait to see what the runway will reveal this year!

More thoughts and rambles from us soon, xx
